The year that was!

2024 will go down as one of the most significant in my beautiful young family’s life. But then again, every year with a young family feels significant.
This year we moved to France, our eldest daughter started school (in Basque!) and Caro fell pregnant with a baby girl who’s joining us in February.
This year was also my first as a full-time Solopreneur. It’s been one of the hardest but most rewarding things I’ve ever taken on.
Thank you so much to all the clients, partners, collaborators & friends who’ve made this adventure possible.
I’ve met & worked with some amazing people this year. It’s a genuine thrill to see the results clients achieve and the incredible work they do.
The highs & lows of 2024
In no particular order, here are some of the highs & lows from this year’s rollercoaster.
Sales
Lowest low: Starting the year with 9 ‘failed’ sales calls. I’ve learnt a lot along the way about how I talk about and present my offer.
Highest high: Renewing a retainer with one of my longest-standing clients as a result of our shared success.
Marketing
Lowest low: Hosting a one-way live-streamed personal branding workshop which I thought had 0 people in it. It was just a tech glitch, and there were at least a dozen people tuning in, but I s#^t myself.
Highest high: Building my thought leadership presence, with 2 articles published & 6 podcast appearances this year. Lots more of this to come in 2025.
Delivery
Lowest low: A client asked for a refund
Highest high: Launching my coaching offer & helping a 1:1 coaching client hit her highest ever revenue month.
Other reflections
At different times through the year, I got stuck focusing on ‘the gap’ rather than ‘the gain’ - always looking ahead at how to grow and develop, rather than pausing to look backwards at how far I’ve come. I’m consciously working on shifting this mindset, as I have a tendency to never feel satisfied.
Truth is, the business I have today is the business I dreamed of in early 2022. Caro & I designed this life for ourselves, and now we’re living it. I was so proud to see her pick up a paintbrush again this year.
My goal for 2025
My first goal for 2025 is to have at least 2 weeks with the laptop closed for the birth of our third child, a baby girl, in February. Everything else can wait :)
Have a Happy New Year! See you in 2025.
